A VW Polo and BMW collided head on into one another on the R25 Bapsfontein road in the vicinity if Bredell AH at around 17:00 this afternoon.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found both vehicles badly damaged, having left the road and off on the side. One woman was trapped inside the wreckage of the BMW and she had sustained severe and critical injuries. As paramedics were stabilising the 43 year old woman inside the vehicle and preparing to remove her from the wreckage, a medical helicopter was called to the scene upon which she was airlifted to Milpark hospital for further care.

A mother and her daughter in her 20’s, who were the occupants of the VW Golf, were found to have sustained serious injuries. They were however in a stable condition and they received the appropriate treatment for their injuries on scene and they were then taken by ambulance to Aarwyp hospital for further medical care.

At this time it is not clear as to what causes this collision, but local police attended the scene to perform necessary investigations.
