Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the N8 near Kwaggafontein, Bloemfontein this evening.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a light delivery vehicle had collided with a heavy goods vehicle and then burst into flames.
The driver of the light delivery vehicle sustained serious injuries and after he received treatment on scene, he was rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
