The four occupants of a Nissan Almera are truly lucky to have walked away from a collision on the N3 near the Ultra City in Escort which happened on Saturday morning.

With the extensive damage to the vehicle that they were travelling in (photos available for download from www.flickr.com/er24ems) it is a miracle that the four were not killed, let alone having only suffered minor and moderate injuries. As paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the blue sedan off to the side of the road and the back portion of the vehicle appeared completely ripped off.

The two men and two women who were in their 50’s travelling in the vehicle at the time had managed to climb out of the wreckage by themselves and were immediately assessed by paramedics. The two occupants of the front seats had suffered more severe injuries than the two rear seat passengers, but all four were in a stable condition, treated for their minor or moderate injuries and transported to hospitals in the area by ambulance.

It is believed that a truck collided into the back of the sedan, with the impact causing the massive destruction of the vehicle. The driver of the truck was not injured in the collision.
