Two men died while four others were injured in a hear-on smash on the R61 near San Lameer this afternoon. Reports indicate that a bakkie with people returning from a mountain bike race and another vehicle collided head-on at around 14h30 this afternoon.
Netcare 911 and other services arrived at the scene and after triaging found one man to be in a critical condition, a female and two other men sustained serious injuries and tragically two men lost their lives due to the extensive injuries that they sustained.
Paramedic’s stabelised the injured on scene before transporting them to a Netcare hospital in Margate for the care that they required.
