Crisis Medical Paramedics responded to a collision between a motorbike and a vehicle at the corner of Shelbourne Avenue and William Campbell Drive, La Lucia at 13:00 today.

First on scene, paramedics found a delivery motorbike lying at the side of the road with the rider close by. The 43 year old man was immediately assessed and it was found that he had suffered suspected lower limb injuries. Paramedics worked to stabilise the man’s limbs before he was fully immobilised. Once secured, the man was transported to Ethekwini Hospital by Crisis Medical ambulance for further medical care. The occupants of the vehicle escaped without injury.

From on scene reports, it is thought that a vehicle failed to stop at a yield sign before turning into the oncoming path of the motorbike however the exact cause will be subject to an SAPS investigation.
