Early morning accident on M4 Durban bound just after Edwin Swales off ramp leaves 11 injured

Just after 06:30 this morning Rescue Care Paramedics were called to the M4 Durban bound just after Edwin Swales off ramp for a taxi that had lost control.

On arrival paramedics found that a taxi carrying people to work had lost control and collided into the concrete barrier. A total of eleven people had sustained various injuries and more resources were called to assist. Once all the patients were stabilized on scene they were all transported to various Durban hospitals for the care that they required.

It is unclear what caused the collision however it is suspected that the wet weather was a contributing factor. Metro Police were in attendance and will be investigating further.

Traffic was severely affected as two out of four lanes were closed to traffic whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
