Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the N1 Danie Joubert Freeway near the Garsfontein off-ramp in Pretoria this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a heavy goods vehicle and motor vehicle collided. The driver of the heavy goods vehicle sustained serious injuries while the two occupants of the motor vehicle sustained moderate injuries.
The injured heavy goods vehicle driver was treated on scene before he was transported to a nearby medical facility for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
