Taxi accident leaves 16 injured on the N3 Pinetown bound near Berea off ramp

Rescue Care paramedics were called to a taxi accident on the N3 Pinetown bound near Berea off ramp this evening just before 6pm for a taxi accident.

On arrival paramedics found that a fully laden taxi had collided into the back of a bakkie in the fast lane of the N3. Paramedics did a quick assessment and found that sixteen people had sustained various injuries. More resources were called in to assist with the number of injuries. Paramedics stabilized all of the injured on the scene before transporting them to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

It is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.

Traffic was severely affected on the Pinetown bound carriageway as the two extreme right lanes were blocked whilst emergency personal worked at the scene.
