Netcare 911 paramedics and its rescue unit responded to a pedestrian accident on Peter Road in Zandspruit this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found a woman was in a critical condition after she was knocked over by a motor vehicle.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured woman to hospital for the urgent medical care that she required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events are unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
