Crisis Medical Paramedics responded to reports of a collision on the N2 south bound before the Umgeni off ramp at around 07:30 this morning.
On arrival, paramedics found an overturned car facing on-coming traffic. The occupants of the vehicle were checked and it was established that a 38 year old female had sustained suspected spinal injuries as well as a number of serious abrasions. Great care was taken to immobilise the injured lady before removing her from the overturned vehicle. Once free, she was then transported to hospital by Crisis Medical ambulance for further treatment.
On scene reports suggest that a vehicle in the fast lane of the motorway collided with the vehicle, the force of the impact then caused the car to overturn however SAPS were on scene and will investigate the exact cause.
