2 Taxis collide leaving 25 injured

Just after 05:30pm Rescue Care received numerous calls for a serious collision on the N3 Pinetown bound near Brickfield involving 2 taxis.

On arrival Rescue Care and ER24 paramedics found patients spread across the barrier next to the fast lane. Paramedics quickly assessed the injured and found that a total of 25 people had sustained various injuries. More resources were called to assist with the number of people injured. Once all the injured were stabilized on the scene they were all transported to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required.

It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS will be investigating further.

Traffic was severely affected on the Pinetown bound carriageway as ambulances worked to clear the injured passengers.
