Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on Penzance Street in New Redruth, Alberton this evening.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a woman was seriously injured after two vehicles collided.
The injured woman was treated on scene before she was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the incident and preceding events are unknown and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
