Control Instruments Announces Interactive online Textar Workshop for motor mechanics

INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP FOR MOTOR MECHANICS

Coinciding with its centenary, Textar, the German-based brake friction brand, has opened a new interactive online workshop.

The web-based service, www.textar-professional.com , encompasses free training videos, animations and technical brochures. Detailed instructions and descriptive images enable motor mechanics to be up to-date with the latest technology and equipped to carry out their work to meet customer requirements.

Control Instruments-Automotive is the sole Textar distributor for Sub-Saharan Africa. This year Textar celebrates its 100th year as a brake friction manufacturer.

“The new web presence provides garages and workshops with comprehensive support in technical matters as well as in the presentation of their services,” said Brendon Waller, product manager-Brake, CI-Automotive.

“The service covers Textar products, marketing support, point of-sale items, technical information and online training.”

The training videos provide detailed, step-by-step instructions for changing a complete set of brakes, general technical information on brake-related issues as well as descriptive articles on the functions of brake systems and typical problems associated with improper installation – demonstrated for professionals.

“The videos are a good source of information for garage mechanics to ensure that brakes are changed correctly and efficiently every time,” said Mr Waller. “The short introductions also offer garages an appealing way to familiarise customers with the topics.”

About Textar

Textar has been a synonym for premium friction products for 100 years. Founded in 1913 as a sales company, stands for high quality, optimum safety and the highest braking comfort worldwide.

In the high performance sector, Textar brake pads are the first choice for vehicles fitted with carbon ceramic brake discs. And with good reason, since these pads have been developed in close collaboration with the disc manufacturer to find the perfect match for this friction partner.

Today, Textar offers the widest range of products and services for passenger cars currently built in the market. In the commercial vehicles sector, 70% of vehicles with drum brakes, and 50% of those with disc brakes, leave the assembly line fitted with Textar friction products.

The trend in vehicle engineering and the development of Textar friction products is currently towards increasing both drive comfort and environmental compatibility. Products that cause less brake dust and low noise, that are lighter and therefore reduce consumption, are no dreams of the future for Textar. They are already successful in the spare parts market through the Textar epad, and in the commercial vehicles sector through the light-weight Textar backing plates.
