ER24 Durban paramedics responded to the on ramp to the M4 north from the M7 in the early hours of Sunday morning.
On arrival they found a single light motor vehicle had collided with the barriers and wall and was extensively damaged. Luckily the driver and only occupant of the vehicle sustained only minor injuries in the collision.
The alarming thing was reports from eye witnesses that shortly after the collision the gentleman was allegedly assaulted and robbed by vagrants in the area.
The gentleman was treated on scene for various soft tissue injuries before being transported by ambulance to a near by hospital for further care.
The necessary authorities were on scene and are investigating the incident further.
