Patient airlifted from single vehicle roll over

A man in his late 20’s has suffered significant injuries as a result of him losing control of the VW Golf that he was driving and the vehicle then rolling.

Paramedics arrived at the scene on the R501 approximately 30 kilometers outside of Potchefstroom towards Carletonville, and they found the citi Golf crushed and ripped apart. The young man was stuck in the vehicle and was placed on life support while plans were made to remove him from the wreckage.

Due to the nature of his injuries and the distance to a nearby appropriate medical facility, paramedics called for the assistance of the Department of Health North West AER24. The patient was airlifted to Tshepong hospital for further care.

No one else had been in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and it is still under investigation as to what caused the driver to roll his car.
