An accident between a bakkie and a truck caring five horses left a female and five horses injured. Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicles collided along the R103 old Howick Road, exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the female bakkie driver had been removed from the scene before our arrival, the truck driver had escaped without injuries while the five horses sustained injuries two of them critically so. Local veterinary surgeons are at the scene to assist with the injured animals.
