A large truck and container overturned this morning in Maraisburg on the corners of 9th Avenue and Shamrock Street.
Paramedics from ER24 that arrived on the scene, found the truck lying on its side near the intersection. They quickly assessed the scene to determine if there were any other vehicles involved but found that only the truck was involved.
The driver of the truck was standing on the scene and sustained minor injuries. He was assess by paramedics and later transported to the Discovery Clinic in Roodepoort for further medical care.
The exact cause of this incident is not yet known. The driver could not explain to paramedics what had happened. It is understood that the truck was carrying a large container filled with scrap metal at the time.
