Two trucks collide on the N3

Despite the extensive damage to the two trucks involved in the collision on the N3 at Cedara on the south bound carriageway, the occupants of the trucks were miraculously left with minor injuries only.

Paramedics were called to the scene where reports were that the occupants of the trucks were trapped and that there were suspected severe injuries on the scene. When they arrived they found that the one truck had collided into the back of the other and the front was crushed and ripped apart.

Contents from both trucks was strewn across the road and paramedics had to deal with looters as well as trying to assess the patient who was in the truck.

The driver of the truck was in a stable condition having suffered minor injuries only despite the damage to the front of the truck. He was removed and transported to a nearby hospital where he will receive further care.

The road remained partly closed during the recovery of the truck remains as well as the contents strewn across the road.
