Seven men have been killed after two vehicles collide head on into one another on the R82 just before Roshnee in the Vaal area this afternoon.
Just after 4pm paramedics were called to the scene where they found an Opel Corsa hatch and a VW Jetta that had collided head on into one another. The force of the impact had been so severe that it had left both vehicles extensively damaged.
Two men in the Jetta and five who were travelling in the Corsa did not survive their injuries and paramedics had no other option but to declare the men dead. Seven young men’s lives had been lost as a result of the collision.
It is not yet clear what caused this tragedy to occur, but local authorities who attended the scene will be conducting all necessary investigations into what took place.
