Taxi accidents leave scores injured in Durban

Yesterday afternoon two separate taxi accidents left twenty four people injured in and around Durban.

Just after 3pm Rescue Care paramedics were called to the intersection of Smith Street and Shepstone Road where a taxi had collided with a car, on arrival paramedics found that twelve people had sustained various injuries More resources were called to assist and once more ambulances had arrived all of the injured were stabilized on the scene before being transported by Rescue Care and ER24 to various Durban Hospitals for further care that they required.

Just after 4pm Rescue Care paramedics were called out once again to a taxi accident on the offramp to Sherwood from the N3. On arrival aramedics found that two cars and a taxi had collided in the junction. Paramedics were met with another twelve patients that had sustained various injuries. Once again more resources were called apon and once more ambulances had arrived all of the injured were stabilized on the scene before being transported by Rescue Care and ER24 to various hospitals for further care.

It is not clear what caused these collisions however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further.
