Truck and bakkie collides on N1 south, Bloemfontein

N1 South – Bloemfontein

At around 01:00 this morning Paramedics from ER24 and other services responded to an emergency call with details that a truck and a bakkie had crashed on the N1 south in Bloemfontein in the Free State.

On their arrival it appeared that a truck had collided into the back of a bakkie and a trailer, resulting in some of the passengers from the bakkie being ejected from the vehicle.

It is understood that the three passengers were seated in the back of the vehicle when the collision occurred.

After the initial impact, control over the truck could not be regained and it then overturned, ejecting the driver from the wreck.

The driver of the truck and the three passengers were treated for their injuries and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The driver and front passenger of the bakkie fortunately were not injured during the collision.

The exact cause of the collision is unknown and the relevant authorities will be investigating.
