Boksburg crash claims one life and leaves another man injured

Just after 5am this Sunday morning, paramedics and the team from the Boksburg fire department went out to the scene of a single vehicle roll over on Main Reef road in Boksburg.

When they arrived on scene they found that the light motor vehicle had left the road, crashed into the perimeter fence of a local business and then landed in its roof in the water of an overflow canal below. They found two young men to have been occupants of the vehicle, both believed to be in their 30’s. Sadly one man had died as a result of the injuries that he had sustained while the other was fortunate to have survived the collision with moderate injuries only.

The Jaws of Life needed to be used to cut away at the wreckage to remove the surviving man, and he was later transported to Tambo Memorial hospital for further care.

Investigators are still in the process of determining what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle resulting in the fatal injuries sustained by one of the occupants.
