Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the N1 south bound near the Botha Avenue off-ramp in Centurion this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found a woman in a serious condition after her light delivery vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle and collided with the barrier.
The woman was treated on scene before she was transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
