Rescue Care paramedics were called to a serious collision on the corner of Mansfield Road and Botanic Gardens Road, Durban just after 10:30am this morning.
On arrival paramedics found that two vehicles had collided in the junction. Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one young lady was still entrapped in the wreckage. Rescue personal were called to assist and once arrived used the jaws of life to cut the injured passenger from the wreckage whilst Rescue Care paramedics stabilized her inside the vehicle. Specialized equipment was used to ensure no further damaged was caused during the extrication. Once extricated from the wreckage the injured passenger was transported by Rescue Care to a nearby hospital for further care. A further two patients were also injured and were transported by Rescue Care to a nearby hospital for further care.
It is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities were in attendance and will be investigating further.
