Early morning taxi collision leaves 14 injured

Sixteen people have sustained various injuries this morning after a taxi and a car collided on Berea Road just after Tollgate Bridge in Durban around 06:15.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived on scene to find that a taxi had collided into the back of a vehicle. A quick assessment was done and it was found that twelve people from the taxi had sustained minor injuries and two occupants from the car had also sustained injuries. All the patients were stabilized on the scene by paramedics before being transported by various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required.

It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.

Traffic was severely affected as two of the four lanes were closed whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
