EMER-G-MED paramedics and other services responded to a pedestrian vehicle accident on the R512 in Renostersspruit near Lanseria this afternoon.
A truck lost control crashing through a barrier hitting four children, before going down an embankment and overturning.
Two children aged 16 and 8 years old were tragically declared dead on scene and another two children aged 8 and 5 years old sustained serious injuries. They were treated on scene before being airlifted to hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries; events leading up to the accident are unclear and will be investigated.
A01, RV03 and M03 are on scene, the road is still closed causing heavy delays.
