A collision in Eastwood, Pietermaritzburg left 18 people with various injuries when a taxi crashed into a house.
Paramedics that arrived on the scene found multiple patients with abrasions and possible spinal injuries. A four year old was treated on the scene for more extensive injuries after she was apparently flung through the windscreen of the taxi. It is understood that the mother held the child on her lap when the incident occurred.
Members of the community pulled the people from the taxi prior to paramedic’s arrival.
The injured were transported per ambulance to Edendale and Northdale hospitals.
