The driver of a bakkie lost his life when his vehicle collided head-on with a taxi on the R511 just before Diepsloot this afternoon.
Various emergency services swarmed to the scene and found that the driver of the bakkie was deceased and that of the taxi trapped.
The process to free the taxi driver from the wreck was timeous and required use of equipment such as the jaws-of-life
The patients on scene suffered moderate to serious injuries and were transported to various hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on scene to investigate the exact cause of the incident.
