Rescue Care paramedics were called to a serious accident on Inanda Road just after NCP cement in Durban around 11pm last night.

On arrival paramedics found that a taxi had collided head on with a car. The driver of the car was found laying in the roadway with critical injuries. Paramedics immediately called for Advanced Life Support intervention whilst trying to stabilize the man. Paramedics worked for close to an hour to try and stabilize the injured man before rushing him through to a nearby hospital for further care. Unfortunately a short while after arriving at hospital the man passed away due to the severe injuries he had sustained. A further two passengers from the taxi suffered minor injuries and were also stabilized on the scene before being transported by Rescue Care to a nearby hospital.

It is unclear what caused the collision however it is alleged that the taxi veered into the vehicles path causing a head on collision to occur. SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
