Three people have been left injured, two seriously so after a head on collision on Stella Road in Malvern Durban on Saturday night around 11pm.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a delivery vehicle and a car had collided head on leaving the driver of the delivery vehicle entrapped in his vehicle. More resources were called to assist as well as rescue services. Advanced Life Support intervention was needed for both drivers to try and stabilize them on the scene. Once the patient had been freed from the wreckage he was placed on specialized equipment before being transported to a nearby hospital for the care that he required. The two occupants from the car were also stabilized on the scene before also being transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
It is unclear what caused the two vehicles to collided head on however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
Traffic was severely affected as Stella Road was closed whilst emergency personal worked to free the injured patients from the wreckage.
