Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the N12 Nelson Mandela Drive at Ikageng about twenty kilometres outside Potchefstroom this evening.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two vehicles had collided head-on resulting in three people sustaining injuries ranging from moderate to serious. Occupants of the vehicles were entrapped in their vehicles and services had to make use of the Jaws of Life to extricate them from the vehicles.
One freed from the wreckages, all the injured people were treated on scene before they were transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
