Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on Witkoppen Road in Randburg last night after 20h40.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a man was knocked over by a delivery motorcycle. The pedestrian was found to be in a critical condition and was airlifted to hospital by the Netcare1 helicopter for the urgent medical care he required.
The motorcyclist was found to have sustained serious injuries and after receiving treatment on scene, he was transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
