A collision between a security vehicle and a BMW on Christiaan De Wet this evening left one person with suspected head injuries.
At approximately 19:00 paramedics responded to the incident on the corners of Christiaan De Wet and Blueberry roads in Honeydew where they found the two vehicles with severe damage. On further assessment they found that bystanders allegedly pulled the security guard from his vehicle. He sustained possible head injuries during the collision and was in a serious condition. Paramedics from ER24 stabilised him on the scene before transporting him to Life Flora Clinic for further medical treatment.
The driver of the BMW was partially trapped in his vehicle and the local fire department had to use the jaws of life to open his door. He sustained moderate injuries and was treated on the scene.
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known.
