A young man has died this morning when his Uno collided with a tree in Stofberg Road, Middelburg.
Shortly after 06:00 this morning paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man still trapped in the vehicle. A bystander explained that the man was not moving when he tried to speak to him. On further assessment, paramedics found that he sustained several fatal injuries and there was nothing more that paramedics could do for him. He was later declared dead on the scene.
At this stage, it is not clear why he collided with the tree. The incident was handed over to the police for further investigation.
