16 injured in bakkie crash on the N2 near Mkhuze

Earlier this morning a team of paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Service responded to an accident on the N2 near Mkhuze in the Umkhanyakude district of KZN.

The single vehicle accident involved a bakkie which reportedly overturned and there were a total of 16 patients injured in the incident. Three of the patients were critically injured and remaining patients, sustained mostly serious injuries.

The paramedics on board several ambulances, including paramedics from a private ambulance, worked together to examine, diagnose and treat the patients on scene, before transporting the patients to Bethesda hospital where the patients were handed over to hospital staff for continued medical care.

The accident is being investigated by the police and the cause and other details regarding the accident will be subject to thier comment.
