A 39-year-old man was trapped in a mini truck after it collided with an 18-wheeler truck on the N2, 5km from Fochville, Cartonville this morning.
ER24 paramedics responded to the scene at approximately 5am and found that the passenger of the mini truck sustained broken legs. He was trapped in the vehicle for approximately 25 minutes and jaws-of-life equipment was used to free him from the wreckage.
The passenger was then transported to Carltonville Hospital for further care.
Both drivers of the vehicles sustained no injuries.
The collision occurred when the driver of the mini truck fell asleep losing control of his vehicle.
