Four people, two men and two woman, have sustained serious injuries, while another woman has sustained minor injuries after the driver lost control of his light motor vehicle on Saunders Road in New Germany.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, collided with a tree and came to a rest against the wall of a complex.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found the car wedged into the wall with three of the five occupants still inside the vehicle.

Pinetown Fire Department used the Jaws of Life and other rescue equipment to extricate them from the wreckage. The four occupants that were in a serious condition were treated for suspected neck and back injuries and possible broken bones.

All five occupants were transported to Hospital for further medical care. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
