Just before 7am Rescue Care paramedics were called to a serious accident on the corner of Sanger Street and Ordinance Road in Durban.

On arrival paramedics found that a taxi and a car had collided in the junction leaving the driver of the one vehicle entrapped. A quick assessment revealed that multiple people from the taxi had been injured. More resources were called to assist including the fire department to free the injured lady. Fire Fighters had to use the jaws of life and other hydraulic equipment to free the trapped driver. Once all of the injured were stabilized on the scene they were transported by ambulances to various Durban hospitals for the care that they required.

It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
