One person was killed and 13 others sustained various injuries when their bakkie overturned on the M1 north near the M2 split in Johannesburg last night.
Shortly before midnight paramedics attended the incident and found an Isuzu bakkie lying on its side. Part of the bakkie was hanging over the double decker section of the highway.
The occupants lied scattered across the highway. One person was found with fatal injuries and declared dead on the scene. All of the other occupants were treated on the scene for multiple injuries ranging from fractures to possible spinal injuries.
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. The Johannesburg Metro Police will be investigating the incident.
