Rescue Care paramedics were called to a serious truck accident just after 1:30pm this afternoon at the intersection of Bayhead Road and Belfast Road in Durban.
On arrival paramedics found that two trucks had collided blocking the entire roadway in both directions. Paramedics quickly assessed the injured and found that four people had been injured two seriously. All of the injured were placed on specialized spinal equipment and stabilized on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
Traffic was severely affected as Bayhead Road was completely blocked in both directions whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
