ER24 paramedics received and responded to a two-vehicle collision at 16:45 on the N7 near Morningstar, Cape Town.
One person was killed, and approximately 66 injured when an open back truck collided with one other vehicles, causing the truck to roll, ejecting passengers off the back of the vehicle.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, immediately began treating the patients found on scene. Aeromedical support was needed for a critically injured patient who required urgent evacuation. ER24 and other services transported various patients from the scene to the closest appropriate facilities.
The cause of the collisions is not known, and investigations are underway.
