Three people have died, one a small child after a vehicle overturned on the N3 about twenty kilometers from Warden in the direction of Johannesburg this afternoon at around 12h00. Exact detail to the cause of the vehicle rolling is still speculative and will remain a subject for police comment.
Netcare 911paramedics and their rescue officer arrived at the scene and found the crumpled remains of a Chevy Spark and accident debris obstructing the highway, five of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle while one man was still trapped in the twisted metal.
After triaging they found that two adults and a child had tragically died before our arrival, a ten- year-old-girl was in a critical condition while two others sustained serious injuries. While the rescue officer used the Jaws of Life to free the injured paramedics had to clamber into the twisted frame to stabilise the man.
After the injured were stabilised and deftly immobilized on trauma boards, paramedics transported them to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
