11 people were injured, 1 critically, when a vehicle overturned on the Oukaapse Weg, Cape Town.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene to find the 11 patients spread across the road, their injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Witnesses stated that the vehicle lost control and collided with a large boulder on the side of the road.
ER24, along with Western Cape Emergency Services, immediately began their treatment of the patients, the critically injured patient being transported by advanced life support to the closest hospital. The remainder of the moderately injured patients were transported to the closest appropriate facilities.
The cause of the collision is unknown and investigations are underway.
