Busy night for paramedics at KZN EMS

It has been a busy night for paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services who were dispatched to several large accidents across the province.

The first large accident was around midnight in the Ilembe health district, north of Durban, where a light motor vehicle was involved in an accident, near the Tongaat bridge in the Nqathi area.

The paramedics responded and found that six people had been seriously injured in the accident. The patients were treated on scene for thier serious injuries before being transported to Montebello hospital for continued care.

Then just before 4am the paramedics in the Amajuba district responded to an accident involving a minibus on the R34 towards Blood river. On this scene there were 14 patients who had been seriously injured, who were treated by the paramedics and transported to Madadeni hospital for further care.

On the N3 on the south bound lane near Hilton, just before 5am there was a collision between a bus an a car. Tragically one person was killed in this accident and three people sustained minor injuries, the three patient’s were transported to hospital by a private ambulance service.

The cause of all of these accidents is unknown and is being investigated by the police
