Child injured in collision on the N2 North bound Durban

A two year old child and his mother have sustained moderate injuries after the vehicle they were in collided with another vehicle on the N2 North bound on the Umgeni Bridge just after 10:30am.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find the two year old being carried by his mother. He has sustained moderate injuries and needed Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilize him. Once the small child as well as his mother were stabilized on the scene they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care that they required.

It is unclear what caused the collision however it is suspected that an errant party pulled in front of the other. Saps were on the scene and will be investigating further.
