Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on Summit Road in Diepsloot, Midrand this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two minibuses had collided resulting in nineteen people sustaining injuries. Two men were found to be in a critical condition while the remaining seventeen people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift one of the critically injured men to hospital while the remaining patients were transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
