A 36-year-old cyclist was seriously injured when a bakkie on Rosemead Avenue in Wynberg knocked him over this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the busy street and their assessments of the cyclist revealed that he sustained multiple fractures on his lower body.
He was stabilised on scene and transported to Mediclinic Constantiaberg for further medical care.
The driver of the bakkie was uninjured.
It is alleged that the collision occurred as the cyclist was turning into an intersecting street. The bakkie was apparently moving behind the cyclist when he was hit.
Local authorities are carrying out the relevant investigations.
