Exhibitors line up to show case at Landy Festival

The South African Land Rover community will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest convoy of Land Rover drivers at this years’ annual Landy Festival.

The Landy Festival takes place on the 10th and 11th May (Saturday and Sunday) at the Soetdoring Vakansieplaas game farm in Vereeniging, different from the previous two years.

At this year’s Landy Festival, exhibitors will include BRS Offroad Accessories, tents and gazebos from Canvas Safari Tents and aluminium frames and canvas canopies from Fakawi Industries.

A number of Land Rover dealers and service centres will also be exhibiting as well as clothing and accessories from Land Rover Gear. Other exhibitors include Off Road Campers, Safari Centre, Scubaversity who supply scuba diving and outdoor equipment, and Torqtune with the latest OBD remapping vehicle tuning techniques.

Ghillie Gear, LR Service Centre, Pon Steyn Motors, CA Bond Trading, 3D Puzzles, Connoisseur Distributors, Gatvol T-Shirts and Stone Accessories, who specialise in the quality design of Land Rover accessories for the Defender 90, Defender 110, TD5, Puma, Defender 130 and Discovery, will all have a presence at the Landy Festival.

“At this stage we will be chasing a record set in the UK for a convoy of 349 Land Rovers. The venue is completely enclosed and the convoy will not be required to drive on any public roads. This will make the attempt easier than in 2012 when the convoy made use of public roads which made the attempt more difficult,” said Craig Dutton, founder of the website MyLandRoverHasASoul.com and organiser of the event www.landyfestival.co.za. The attempt will take place on Sunday 11th May.
