Minibus crash on the N3 near Paradise valley injures 16

This morning there has been an accident involving a minibus on the N3 near Paradise valley

Paramedics form KZN Emergency Medical Services and several private ambulances services worked together to treat the 16 patients that had sustained injuries in the accident, ranging to critical to minor injuries.

The KZN EMS air ambulance was dispatched to the accident and flew one of the critically injured patients to Inkhosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital, where the patient was handed over to a team of trauma Doctors.

The other patients were transported by ambulance to several hospitals in the Durban area, including St Mary’s, King Edward VIII and Addington hospitals for further medical care.

Traffic in the area was severely affected, as at first there were just lane closures and then the road was closed when the air ambulance landed.

The cause of the accident is not known and the police are investigating the matter further.

If I could use this platform to ask that motorists don’t drive in the emergency lanes and to allow emergency vehicles to pass when they are responding.
