A man was killed early this morning when he was hit by a car on the M19 between Pinetown and Westville, Kwazulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene of this gruesome collision to find an extensively damaged vehicle in the fast lane. The pedestrian man had apparently tried to cross the busy road when the vehicle struck him. The driver was apparently unable to swerve quickly enough to avoid hitting him. Paramedics declared the patient dead due to the severe injuries he had sustained.
The driver and passenger of the light motor vehicle both had minor injuries but were both “visibly shaken” according to one ER24 paramedic on scene. They were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on scene to investigate the cause of the collision.
